A couple of the rooms are dated, and the towels aren't as clean as you might expect. It's a bit of a let down that the hotel doesn't put more effort into updating the rooms and building.
Also, I find it unfortunate that they are not doing anything to end the animal cruelty which occurs within their supply chain. I've called, emailed, and left comments on their website about this matter, but nothing has changed.
All-inclusive packages are a good deal at this resort, but other options are available nearby. Hotel Riu Caribe is within easy walking distance, as are Hotel Riu Palace Costa Mujeres, and Hotel Riu Dunamar.
